Words..what an ingenious weapon of mass destruction-Part1

We are so worried about a nuclear missile, but has anyone considered the power of words???

Everyone listens to the media at some point. So what we hear, forms our opinions. Everyone has an opinion based on facts...or sometimes, hear-say (rumors). Some people vehemently decree that Fox News is absolutely all truth. And then others say that CNN is all right. No one is completely, 100% right. Never, ever. I'd say it is factually impossible (but then there is an opinion again).

Some people say that they think Lincoln didn't do the right thing concerning the Civil War. But it's not a fact. There is what he did, what we think of it, and then there is what we think he should have done instead, if anything at all. There are always several points of view on the subject;

1. The South is right, North is wrong.
2. The North is right, South is wrong.
3. The North and South are both wrong and the Brits are right.
4. Everyone is wrong and North Korea should just end our missery with a nuclear missle they keep threatening.

And then there is your take on it.

Have you ever looked at a Political figure who said something we think is ignorant, and wonder what would have been different if they had worded one sentence differently? Or left a sentence off?

Everyone can have an opinion on anything they want. But it should be taken as it is said; an 'OPINION'. Sometimes I think part of one opinion is right and I add it to my opinion, and then I might discard another part of my opinion. You can effect someone else's opinion, but rarely change it

Most of us as human beings know what's right and what's wrong. Whether we do anything about it or not is our responsibility.

Also, we have to accept other opinions, we may not agree with it, but it is still an OPINION. When they are wrong is when they start acting like the OPINION is a fact. I found something actually kind of wise on Facebook, "A mind and a Parachute have 1 thing in common....Both need to be open to do any good.". And that's exactly the truth.

But what about the people who aren't social highlights or people who don't get quoted in magazines? They can use & abuse words just the same. To people they love, people they should love, people they don't know....

Words can either build or tear down. They can give hope, or cut deep. This nation was built on strong beliefs and the most important words ever written down (Declaration of Independence). We have the Bill of Rights. Those words are building blocks, the foundation for a better country. Why did we leave Europe???? Because there were laws about speech, religion..yada yada yada. The words we built this Nation on are good, hopeful, freedom-giving words.

But as for words being a weapon of mass destruction... think slander, rumors. Think mud slinging from political figures and even just little town mayoral candidates.

Pride is predictable, someone's ego gets wounded and then comes the mud slinging, and then somewhere in there an anonymous nobody gets the bright idea to do something about it and then we have a problem on our hands. A big problem.

Have ever paid attention to how you talk or the words you say when your mad, happy, sad? Do you mean what you say and say what you mean?
